What will they protect against?
All three types of equipment will protect against most types of missile, stones and rocks and even air gun pellets.
Which is the best way to install?
The neatest way to install the screens is to attach them to the outside of the window frames in separate panels, then the window can be opened normally and the appearance of the window remains unaltered.
Are they difficult to Fit?
No anybody with basic practical DIY skills will be able to install them, the holes are pre-drilled into the frame ready to take the fixings.
Will they reduce the light through my windows?
Yes but the mesh screens will still allow 60% of the light through, while the Clear Vandal Shield will allow nearly 100% light penetration.
Are they difficulty to clean?
There is no need to remove the screens for cleaning; they can be easily cleaned by using a hose pipe or pressure washer.
Do I need to apply for planning permission?
Not usually because they are attached to the windows and do not alter the appearance of the building.
What are the alternatives?
The only alternative is to install roller shutters (planning permission may be required)
Can I fit them on the inside for security?
Yes they can however there main application is fitted externally for protection against vandalism.
